stereoscopy rulez!

Post by yuriythebest »

Yay first post! Here is my first ever 3d photoshoppage:

I'm especially proud of how the mtbs logo pops out. Though be warned in this image I look like crap- taken at around 2am.

in case anyone wants to experiment here is how it was done:

1. took a self portrait with a standard digital camera, moved it a lil sideways, took another photo- be sure to be perfectly still

2. opened both images in photoshop
2.removed the background
3. created a background in 3ds max by rendering a scene from 2 slightly different angles
4.combined the background, my stereophoto, and additional elements

here is a visual walkthrough (also looks very cool stereoscopically)

Hi Yuri!

There is probably an easier way to do this. I know you won't get the exact 3D proportions on your face, but it should be enough to look clean.

Take a single picture of your face and follow these steps:

1. Offset the background with the crates. Maybe an inch of separation?
2. Take the single image of your face, but offset it by half an inch or a much smaller portion than the background in step one.
3. Keep the MTBS logo in mono. OR, cross the logos where the left side is seen by the right eye, and the right side is seen by the left eye.

This should work.

Regards,
Neil

yeah there are many ways to do this, however the beauty of my method is that every element is in 3d
