Now the point i want to understand ...

Notice the FOV for both Wrap 1200 [FOV 35] , Wrap 1200VR [FOV 35] And Star 1200 [FOV 31]
says "75-inch virtual screen as viewed from ten feet (~3m)"
however the FOV is different (for Star 1200) - how come ?

are they giving accurate info regd the units... i wonder since the LCD remain the same viz-a-viz resolution for above ?

that makes me skeptical abt their claims .....

I had noticed this as well. It could be just a typo, but it could also mean they are fudging their numbers a bit...

I do have a funny feeling about the 1200 (in all its forms); they have been talking proudly about the re-designed units - new focus controls, adjustable inter-ocular distances etc - but they have not published any photos so far.

If the release really is "just around the corner" as they say, you'd think there would be some promotional images starting to appear. I hope they don't delay it yet again, but the fact that there are discrepancies in their own specs makes me think they may not be as close to a release as they are saying.

LOL the Vritual screen size gets bigger in the specifications but from further away!
The old units (VR920) had a virtual screen of 62" from 9ft now the Wrap1200 is 75" from 10ft away, I suppose thats one way to try make it sound better when the virtual screen is only slightly bigger.
Current System:
Oculus Rift Dev Kit, 3x 23" Passive 3D Monitors in 3D Vision Surround, Novint Falcon, 3rd Space Gaming Vest, ButtKicker, Razer Hydra, Logitech G25.
Previous 3D Systems:
Viewsonic PJD6531w 3D DLP Projector, Vuzix VR920, 24" Alienware and 22" Samsung 3D Vision Monitors, eDimensional 3D Glasses with 19" CRT Monitor

VR920 was only 32 degrees. 1200VR is 35 degrees, 10% bigger. The STAR uses different optics, so thats probably why FOV is reduced.

Nice advertisement James, but I doubt you'll get many people falling for it.

Any objective analysis of its specs will immediately show that it will never be 'the perfect big screen interactive gaming monitor'. FOV? Crap. Resolution? Crap. Everything else? I'm guessing pretty much the same quality Vuzix crap that they have been pushing for ages.

Vuzix will really have to pull off something decent if they wish to compete with the likes of SMD (at least based on specs).
