dual pair rather than anaglyph?

Post by Beneficial »

do either the iz3d drivers or the nvidia 3d stereo drivers support dual pair stereogram view rather than the anaglyph red/green glasses view? (using regular 2d monitors)

I have no difficutly in adjusting the focus of my eyes to view dual pair stereograms and could easily hold that focus with moving images. You get the benefit of the colours not being messed up. As far as I can tell, neither of these drivers will let you do dual pair on a single monitor.

Is that correct?

Anyone know anything that can?

I've never heard of this. Can you elaborate more?

Maybe I described it awkwardly, because I'm sure you've seen what I'm referring to. I just mean those so-called "crosseye" view stereograms such as those that are even in the gallery of this very site or like this

or

The left-eye view is on the left and the right-eye view is on the right. I was just wondering if there might be a way, on a simple 2d monitor, with those neat drivers that can do the anaglyphs, to play a game with the left eye view on the left and the right eye view on the right. I wouldn't need the silly red/green glasses and the colour of the game wouldn't be spoiled.

The technology out there now probably makes such a feature useless, but I'm thinking from the perspective of a poor student :D .

If you could find a second monitor its possible - at least with the Nvidia drivers up to 162.50 I think...

It's called 'dual-output' at the old Nvidia drivers. You have to set clone-Mode at the 'normal' 2D settings and the Nvidia driver makes it 3D, if activated.
You can change from crosseye to paralel viewing with changing positions of the monitor in the world, or in Widows.

Iz3d wants to make a similar feature (which will cost some money) called HMD-driver. It has 2 outputs either. I'm not shure, if the included a mode, where you get both images on ONE screen. Having both pictures on one screen wouldn't be bad, becaus it's not that 'hard' on the eyes...
