Hey guys I've done a bit of research and most likely I'll be getting this acer 3d monitor

DELETED BY MODERATOR

I was just wondering if this is a good 3d monitor?

Also is 120hz good enough? I know i've heard of alot higher refresh rates....will 120hz mean I will only be able to get 60frames of imaging to each eye? or does it mean 120 to each?

I have a 3d projection setup now and its not bad...but its not 1080p and I also need a new lcd monitor so it seems like a good time to get a 3d monitor for me.

I'll be doing some pc gaming, and maybe ps3 if it works on these monitors...

Like do you guys think its big enough for a good 3d effect? Anybody know how well the 3d actually works on these any information would be nice

Its only 350$, 23.6 inches, 1080p and 3d..so it seems to be a pretty good value to me.

Thanks in advance guys

I really dislike people like this. I send him a nice PM to stop promoting his online store through Amazon. So he resubscribes to MTBS under a different name and does it again...WITH THE SAME IP!

Goodbye!

And this is exactly the type of spam that a CAPTCHA can't catch since he's not a bot.

I think we should disallow URLs for users with less than 5 posts maybe. We could use this plugin:
http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/d ... 79ce7ab976" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

We need PHPBB plug-ins for 3.0.7 or later. This version won't work.

It's not a bad idea. These personalized spammers are pretty rare, though. It's actually a form of flattery that they invest their time like this to get access to our audience.

Neil

I think it should work. People said it was compatible with 3.0.7.

Disabling images/video might also be a good idea to avoid the porn that cropped up recently, but I did not see a plugin for that. I could write one if it continues to be a problem, though.

The porn only happened in the last week because our previous CAPTCHA had to be downgraded to a worse CAPTCHA temporarily. It's a non-issue with the new anti-spam measure.

Why even take the time? It's not likely to get him any business.

I wonder how we'll stop spam when computers can read as well as humans. Captchas capitalize on the failure of decades of research into computer vision aiming to create a universal nonstandard character recognition program. When one is finally developed, will we return to the spammy outlaw days of the pre-captcha era?

Has that really been proposed? I suppose it could happen when the technology is ubiquitous. A quick facial or iris scan perhaps, or a swipe of the hand.
