Hi, now that people usually have some spare time, I guess it's the appropriate moment to ask . I don't know how I didn't think of that a bit earlier.
First of all let me say what this game is all about:
It's MMO quest/adventure/puzzle game. It uses DX9 and it looks great in 3D, (with some small glitches, I guess it depends on what 3D driver you're using) The game is based on the offline/single-player version of URU (which was initially planned as MMO, but things didn't work back then), which was released in late 2003, so the graphics are not spectacular, but they still look good (to me) . It's made by the authors of the original Myst games, so if you've played them, you'll like this one as well. It was relaunched last February (it previously worked and was shut down several times), and thank god, it's still operational , and it's totally free to play.
It's not like the usual quest/adventure games - beside the fact that is's a multi-player game , sometimes it's extremely hard to find solutions for the puzzles, and you have to think out of the box, and in some cases you really need a walkthrough, the solutions are just insane . And, you really need pen and paper next to you, to write things down, redraw schematics and so on (or you can use screenshots, and later alt+tab if you're too lazy ).
If there's someone interested (and he's serious about it), we could play together, I could be their guide (because I've played almost the entire game). So, write in this thread, and we'll figure out a way to communicate while playing and so on.
I was thinking to post a link to the site of the game, but I thought that if you can't find it yourself, this game is not really for you (although the majority of the members in this forum are very intelligent). Consider it a test .

OK, I ran through my screenshots that I made while I was playing the game in April - June, and picked the best of them (60 shots out of about 250), I hope they'll deliver at least a part of the atmosphere of the game, and make you want to try it . I was using iZ3D driver, I think the version of that time was 1.11 beta (1 or 2, I'm not sure).
If you have interest in the game after you see these shots, I'd suggest you see my post over at the iZ3D forum, for some details and start-up guide.
Update: I forgot to mention that if your display is not properly calibrated, you might find these images too dark. Here's a nice short guide on how to calibrate the brightness and contrast of your monitor. You might want to save the picture with black levels and open it with a picture viewer that has black background (in fullscreen). Then you may tweak your display additionally by looking at the ingame's calibration screen I'm posting below (again with black background). Now do the same when viewing images in 3D (with glasses).
And the following shots contain heavy spoilers, so look at them only if you don't plan to ever play the game .

Looks cool man. Unfortunately I have about 10 games I've bought and haven't even played yet, so I doubt I will be joining you on this one. Thanks for the screenshots, though.

I definitely planned to do so for all the games I have, that haven't been reported yet, but I still haven't found the time .Neil wrote:Remember to submit to M3GA: http://www.mtbs3d.com/m3ga" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I sure understand that, been there, done that . If you're a fan of this genre, it's absolutely a should-not-miss game and I hope you find some time in the future to at least try it (alone, or with friend) (before it's unexpectedly shut down for example ).cybereality wrote:Looks cool man.
