Nvidia 3D runs on different voltages?

Post by SovietInvasion »

Hi.

I'm from Europe and the cheapest used 3D vision kits right now can be bought from the US. One seller said that the US units run on 110v and that they won't work in Europe where 220v is used. Is there truth to his statement? I had thought that since they run on USB power voltage wouldn't matter.

Thanks for any info.

I think he is wrong.

Is it on eBay? Many eBay sellers do not really knew much about what they are selling, and would rather play it safe than have to arrange a return.

I don't know much about voltages, but I believe USB is an international standard. Hence the name: Universal Serial Bus.

Yeah, USB is 12V if I remember correctly. Not to mention, USB uses DC, not AC, so it wouldn't make a difference anyway.

It's 5 volts with no exceptional current capability. Don't remember but maybe at maximum you can pull 1 Ampere out of it... Those usb-powered cupheaters can't be effective in their task...
