Was surfing around when I found this conversation at the VLC forums : someone is working on 3D features for VLC

if they implement stereosupport. Why not?
Once they're capable of reading most different inputsformats for 3d i think they're going to implement most different outputs as well. The ugly little vlc is my favourite player when it's 2d.

Actually, I prefer Mediaplayer Classic but I know and appreciate the work of the VLC team for their commitment to making a great free and open source multi-platform player that does not need external codecs.

If vlc implement stereoscopic support then mpc team will not be far behind, if even behind. :lol:

atm vlc are those that have to catch up. in either case it will be a while, of ever, till they catch up so sView - which can now play video and has many outputs.

Thank you for the information yuriythebest, I haven't heard about this stereo movie player before and it happens to have a Linux version too. Unfortunately it doesn't work on my machine yet, but the developer is very reactive and helpful.

Nice that someone wants to add s3d to vlc too, the more open source players integrate 3D, the better.
