3.5 years now since the release of HDMI 1.4 spec and still not a single 3D TV features 60 Hz full-resolution stereoscopic 3D mode, despite all the
talk about "new 300 MHz silicon" which would overcome the
limitations of older 225 MHz parts. WTF?
Sorry, but HDMI Licensing and HDMI Forum failed to see the needs of PC gaming in the first place, and then failed to address the shortcoming when they saw it. As a result,
HDMI 3D completely missed the opportunity to become relevant for sterescopic PC gaming, it will probably become increasingly
irrelevant for next-gen consoles, considering that
Internal DisplayPort will be found inside every display panel by 2015, and if this trend continues, HDMI and MHL will eventually become legacy interfaces just like VGA and DVI...
