Was so peeved the other day. I went to our local Sony store for a demo only to find out that the store was shutting down and they weren't receiving their demo unit. I'll have to do a 3 hour drive to see it elsewhere.
I just received an email from avsforum that they will send out shipping quote next week. Most likely they will have the stock latest by end of this month. I'm really pump up now.

Haha, maybe. This is one of those items on my bucket list and I've been saving a while for something like this so its not a huge deal for me.

I've been there plenty of times. If you like spicy food, a couple eggs tossed in while it's boiling (1 minute usually gets it just right) and some Tapatio hot sauce makes for a good switch from the norm.
I just want to hear some reviews as its highly unlikely that I am going to be treated to a 'try before you buy' unfortunately, as the employees at my local Sony store are total retards who have never heard of the HMZ-T1.
Def. a bigger fan of amazon. However I wanted a 2 year warranty on it and sony offer is 20 bucks cheaper when bought the unit + I am not sure when amazon will get in and impatient.(50 bucks for 2 years is pretty nice). Its got so many straps and components it seems silly not to pay for warranty.Sonys warranties are practically unlimited in sending back units as I have heard.
The pricing is OK if you include shipping from US + VAT.
what abt the voltage does this have a voltage selector for diff. regions voltages.....sony usually does so
i have an imported sony audio system from the 90s which has the voltage selector at the back of it to choose voltage from 120 or 240v AC..... any ideas ?
I ordered mine in early Sept., originally received an email saying it would ship 10/26. In mid October I received an email saying it was delayed to 10/28. I actually went woohoo since this meant it was likely to actually ship that day. 10/28 came and towards the end of the day no notifications etc... so I called Sony directly and talked to a rep. She assured me the order was 'in stock, would ship 'today' and I would receive an email confirming this. Email didn't come and sonystyle site says 'updating' under my shipping status. I have it coming next day air so should get it quickly. They have not charged my card as of yet so I am almost certain no units shipped Friday. Time will tell. Just my .02
The same page on the same site has said Nov 2nd, Nov 4th, Oct 26, Oct 28 and Nov 11 so the assertion it's delayed to Nov 4th is kinda arbitrary. All we know for certain is Oct 26 and 28th ship dates are out. As far as I know no one has received shipping email notifications after the first 2 day delay mailed on the 24th.
I received an Official email from Sony on the HMZT1 ship date:
"We would like to inform you we are experiencing a delay with your Sony order. The following item HMZT1 has been rescheduled to ship on 11/18/2011."
Since I ordered it on the first day pre-ordering was available I think this is the first ship date. (it's a Friday). This has been corroborated by numerous other reports of receiving the same email.
I received another official email from Sony. They have accelerated the date by one week and say they will now ship to me next day air on 11/11. (another friday) Sony seems to be all over the place on this.
My 2011-09-20 preorder was cancelled due to some credit card snafu. I re-ordered on November 7 and my order status showed an estimated ship date of November 10th. I just called and was told it will ship November 18th with "free expedited shipping".

Nah...it came up short.
I got the same date (well she said the 16th for an update actually) when I called Sony this morning. Sony's starboard hand doth not know what it's port hand doeth.
