I have a FPV quadrocopter,
It has a little camera at the front. I would like to find a small optic that I can place in front of the camera that will split the image in two.
That way I can decode the image on the PC side and display a steroscopic image
A better image of the camera,
Optics to split image into two

Hi,
I think you need a miniaturized version of this kind of stuff (I don't know if it already exist but you can still try to do it yourself )

There are several companies that produce "beamsplitters" which attach to lenses to produce a stereo image, but most of them are designed for SLR cameras and would be far too large for your purpose!
You might find it easier to mount a dedicated stereo camera onto the vehicle. There is a 3D webcam currently available:

perhaps it could be modified? Or, you could just mount two separate cameras side by side; it would still be a lot smaller than trying to mount a beamsplitter onto the lens.
Good luck!

Just make simple mirror system (like two periscopes), shouldn't be hard.
Oculus Rift, Vuzix Wrap 920 AR!, Vuzix VR920, Liquid Image MRG 2.2, Razer Hydra, P5 Glove, Microsoft Kinect, TrackIR5, 2 x Hillcrest Labs Freespace tracker, Fujifilm finepix real 3d w3, GeForce 9800GT 1Gb, GeForce GT 430 1Gb, DELL XPS 17 l702x with GeForce 555 GT 3Gb, and good-old VFX1 setup

How about no optics, but 2 cameras?

This camera is digital and sends it feed using a high power wifi adapter, so I cant use that analog 3d camera, I think its also hard usng two cameras since there is only a connection on the motherboard for one camera...
Are there high quality lightweight plastic mirrors around? Then you could make a beamsplitter that wont weight too much...
