Viewing Autodesk 3DS Max models in 3D?

Post by PalmerTech »

Hey guys! I need some help.

I have a set of 3DS Max models that I want to view (Namely, architectural models of buildings) using an HMD. I do not want to see them through the viewer, just any engine I can that I can tap into using IZ3D drivers.

Does anybody have suggestions? It looks like I might be able to import them into Garry's Mod, which uses the Source engine, but I am not sure if that is the best solution. In particular, I would like to be able to zoom in and out of the scene, making the models appear larger or smaller.

Any help? Maybe this is the wrong section to find the most help, but it IS for a VR application, so we will see. :D

Yeah, Unity is probably your best bet, if you want real-time interaction.

But you could always pre-render a fly-through in 3DS Max and watch with Stereoscopic Player.
