Hi, I had my 3 Sharp XR10XL's Projectors working in S3D with the nVidia 3D Vision kit. But I had the Matrox TH2Go setup and it worked perfect except for the fact I had to wear the 3D Glasses upside down..

Well I had sold my Matrox TH2Go unit and now I can NOT get S3D to Work in ArmA2:Operation Arrowhead.. I can get ArmA 2 regular to work this is wierd??

Any reason 1 game basically the same game works and the other does NOT??

It seems my other games are working too, Games I tried:

1. GTR2
2. rFactor
3. LOTRO
4. D&DO
5. ArmA2

I also was able to bump the HZ upto 85 and If you know the Old School version with this Projector you woulf get ink stains in some games or Psychadelic colors.

Well turns out that might have been Driver related, cause I am running at 85HZ and Ran GTR2 and Did NOT Notice the Ink Stain on the dash like before..
Well this is strange can I Plerase Get some help on this issue..AS I can NOT goto nVidia with this one..:(

Can you explain a little more about your setup? Are you using all 3 projectors (3D Vision Surround)? Just one? DVI, VGA, HDMI? What OS, driver version, etc.

OK Sorry I should of stated some of that.. ;)

Currently I am using 1 Sharp XR10XL Plugged into the card Via a DVI to VGA Plug, and plugged into the VGA Port on the Projector.. I am looking to get another 470GTX Vid card so I can Go back to using Triple Screen setup..

OS is Win 7-64 bit Home Premium. Drivers are Currently 260.99. I have tried Several other drivers including the newer Beta ones..Here is a List of drivers I have tried:

1. 260.99 Current
2. 266.58
3. 270.61
4. 275.27

here are some sys psecs:

1. Intel E8400 CPU
2. PNY GeForce 470GTX Single
3. Kingston HyperX T1 8gb memory
4. Asus Striker II Formula
5. 1 Sharp XR10XL Currently

Now like I said ALL my Other games work except ArmA2:OA which is a Addon game for ArmA2 which works fine..So basically it is the same game just different maps so it should basically be the same core engine and such..

Also I have some Addon Mods with OA which should NOT effect the sim as I had these mods before with the TH2Go and it worked fins in S3D..I can disable them easily and will right after posting this to see if they by chance are affecting the S3D..

If anybody wants more info let me know Ill post with the info requested..

Well, if its a DirectX game (8 or above) it should work with Nvidia drivers. The only thing I can think of is if somehow the mod is using custom settings (ie weird resolutions and/or refresh rates) and that doesn't work with the driver. You may want to double-check the settings and/or ini/config files that are used with the mod.

haha It looks as thos in the CFG file the refresh rate was set to 60hz which will NOT work. well I changed it to 85hz and Voila it works again..I will try and remember that for Future reference. But I am NOT sure How it changed??

there is no hz chnges to make in the options screen??

If you go into the Nvidia control panel, then into stereoscopic. There is a button to "test stereo 3D" which launches the spinning Nvidia logo. Click the button, but don't hit OK. Then select the refresh you want (85Hz), then check the box that says "Apply this refresh to all games". Then hit "Apply". This should make it so all games use the proper refresh rate and work in 3D.

Yes I noticed that Option the other day but it is GREYED out and I can NOT select Apply this refresh rate to all games??

Maybe because they are NOT certified S3D Projectors this option is greyed out??
I also found the trick to get a NON Certified Projector to work in S3D..Well it had to be on the Old list of 3D Projectors first NOT just ANY DLP Projector will work..But not sure if that would be a good idea as nvDia may try to fix what Is broke??

Well looks like I am back to Square one with my setup..here is the parts list:

1. Intel i5 2500K
2. Asus P8 Z68-V Pro
3. Mushkin DDR3 12800 4gb memory..
4. 3-Sharp XR10XL's
5. 2 PNY 470GTX's SLI Surround..

I am ONLY able to get Discovery mode to work now as expected according to nVidia.. Now I had this working with a single card and single monitor.. I am hooked up allDVI- VGA connectors from the Vid Card to the projectors using VGA Connectors.....
I may try the EDID trick but that has been unsuccesfull in the past.. any other tricks I might be able to try??

With current NVIDIA drivers and 3D Vision kit only 100hz or better works. They'll gray out anything less than 100hz. The main reason why I'm slowly converting over to GT720's as my budget allows.

I had it working at 75hz in single card mode on a single screen with these projectors so I know it will work....I think I will try putting on the EDimensional dongle and number 1 projector and see if that helps..

my current setup is 2 video cards and I think it is recognising what the projector are not certified S3D Projectorsd.. If I could get the 3D Vision to recognise the projectors as a CRT monitor I would be golden..

I am going to try and fiddle with it waiting further response..
I can migrat over the new projectors but i just spent all this money on a new rig so it will be a while before i could get the certified projs

It tried to run my 85hz projectors in 3D mode and I never got it to work right. If you do find out something that works I'd be very interested in an 85hz multi-projection solution.

well they would have had to of been old school 3d supported. using win xp and the 94.24 drivers and edimensional glasses. here is a list of 3d projectors that would work in S3d old school. if you have one of those projectors and ran a triplehead 2 go unit it would work with a single card and nvidia 3d vision..look at the legacy list of projectors that do 85hz:

http://www.3dmovielist.com/projectors.html

I know for a fact it works I did it.. you just need to select CRT monitor for the display and voila you get working 3D vision..

If I can get SLI working with TH2Go I am going to go ahead and buy another TH2Go unit and use that till I get the money for the new Certified S3D Projectors..

Just in case this is useful for you, I'm running 3d vision drivers in win7 and an acer h5360. But because the 5m vga cable that I'm using doesn't let the edid data go through, it does not get recognized and I'm using the generic "analog CRT" mode. I explicitly set the resolutions and refresh rates that I need in the windows register (nvidia compress modes guide). Everything is working fine this way. And as a beneficial side effect, I can tell the size of the screen in the register and it doesn't get overwritten as it happens when the h5360 is recognized.

ya kinda figureed that is what is up.. I will try and get the TH2Go and see if that will fix my problem.. cause whn you use the th2go it reports as a seperate unit and it may confuse the nVdia drivers thinking it might be a crt monitor or possibly it just does NOT know what Monitor you are using and you are able to slect CRT and I then would be able to get it working..

As it is know the Sharp Projector shows up so that is probally why it wont recognise as a crt it recognises it as a sharp DLP Projector and these are not on the certified list ..

Got my fingers crossed the TH2Go un it will fix my woes.. it did before?? If that does not work I am going to then try the EDID Trick again and see if i can get it working that way..

Do they make a EDID Blocked cable??

Sorry, I don't have anything else to add, but I may try to explain myself better. If you already are using a VGA cable and blocking EDID, don't use any .inf file as monitor driver. Let windows use its default "generic non-pnp monitor" inf file. Once you have reach this situation, add to windows register the resolution, color bits and refresh rate you want to use for 3D. To locate the correct register key and know the correct format use the nvidia guide about compressed video modes. You'll have to restart after adding the information to the windows register.

All this was meant to the problems with your projector, sorry 8-/
I think I'm going to stop giving advices. I'm causing troubles to you; at the nvidia forums people wants step by step help and information about setups I just don't have.... to much dedication and pressure for an asocial guy like me.

Well I finally scrapped the money for the TH2Go unit. I just need to deposit the rest of the money and then wait a while till I can buy the unit. But that should not take long I may have the unit by the end of the week..

Hopefully that is going to solve my S3D Woes as of now.. I can get it working in 1 screen just not with the surround active too?? wierd..

People are using the IZ3D driver with some success with various 3D projectors, but I don't think in multi-head configuration.

It mainly has to do with what hardware you are using. For example, DLP projectors can use a variety of DLP-Link glasses. For 3D HDTVs can use the glasses from the manufacturer (ie Sony, Panasonic, etc.). I'm not sure I understand what you are seeking.

I was just seeking something other than nVidia solution.. ;)

But probaly not gonna find anything compatible with my hardware..I have the TH2Go unit on order so hopefully that is going to fix my S3D woes.. altho I will not be able to game at a higher rez having the S3D more then makes up for it ..

Well that would be really nice and if they made them not as proprietary as nVdia has..I meant it is stupid I have DLP Projectors Capable of S3D but because nVdia says they are NOT certified I can NOT get them to work well I will be able to soon but still not how it should be..

It should (might?) enable the Nvidia driver without actually having Nvidia hardware. So you could be able to use DLP-Link glasses or something like that. Never tried it myself, though.

Well I just recieved the Matrox TH2Go in the mail. I hooked it up and voila S3D is working again like a charm.. It was a little bit tricky to get through the wizard but I finally got it working well the test screen works now with the nVidia logo on it..

Going to go test some games now..

Well it is OFFICIALLY WORKING. ;) :)

I think what happens since the Matrox unit shows as it's own display the Wizard does NOT realise what you really have and you are then able to select CRT or DLP TV for your monitor and get it too work..

BHawthorne if you are still interested in getting other DLP Projectors to work and they are on that list of old school 3D Projectors. By using a Matrox TH2Go unit it will trick into thinking you have a CRT monitor hooked up and get you past the wizard NOT recognising your monitor as NONcertified..

It was a lillte bit more tricky this time I had went up to the point where I can get the Display recognised but it showed up as Not recognised but the CRT and DLP Mionitor showed up so I had it on Discovery and clicked next then on the next screen I went back and then it had automatically selected DLP TV so I ran through the wizard and then when I finished I went into the CP and went back to the S3D Page and then without running the wizard selected CRT Monitor and voila it worked..

so this is a Hack to get S3D working on a NON Certified DLP Projector..

I dub it my "Virtual Simulator" I mostly fly Flight simulators on it like Flaming Cliffs 2 and DCS:A-10C

my setup is in my signature ;)..

I also had a thread in the old school setups about my system when I first got it..
