Jesse Houston doesn't honor EA's 3D ready announcement.

Post by trey582 »

EA announced that all their game titles will be 3D ready.

Mass Effect Producer Jesse Houston goes against EA's announcement in a response in this thread.

EA had announced that all their titles would be 3D ready yet it seems Mass Effect 3 will not be 3D ready.

However Crytek seems to be honoring EA's announcement by offering stereoscopic 3D support as per EA's announcement.

Meanwhile they have the screen tearing issues with the ps3 version , cannot maintain 30fps at 720p 2d.

Even if they used that depthmap 3d thing itd be choppy......

Interesting. They are probably too deep into development on ME3 to consider going 3D. I imagine any new games started will take 3D into consideration from the get-go. And since many companies either license 3rd party engines (Unreal) or re-use their proprietary tech for different games (even different teams) from the same company, I expect 3D to become standard pretty soon. Once it is build into the engine, there is no reason for developers to not take advantage of it.

The thread has been deleted. Very shocking. Was it Jesse Houston who deleted the post? Did he make a mistake by responding to the post? Perhaps certain investors responded in anger or dismay or they were trying to hide something?

Hopefully MTBS3D has enough muscle to contact EA and find out why Bioware a division of EA is not honoring EA's announcment of all their gaming titles being 3D-Ready.

Please note EA joined the S3D Community.

EA Announces

"All our games will be 3D ready"

Article: 3dradar.techradar.com/3d-tech/ea-all-our-games-are-3d-ready-03-11-2010

Imagine being fully immersed into the world of Mass Effect 3. NVIDIA 3D Vision technology has come a long way since 9 months ago. With optimal convergence & depth settings you can avoid any type of eye strain. Once you get used to 3D there is no going back. I can't imagine playing any adventure games without 3D ever again.

VX2268WM - 3D ready monitor 22 Inch - $269.99

NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit - $174.99

I am a very difficult person to please and I know a gimmick when I see one. NVIDIA 3D Vision originally appeared to be very gimmicky but they've fixed all the major problems. I strongly recommend 3D gaming. If you've been on the sidelines then hopefully this post will push you to take that step.

I've played the following two bioware games with NVIDIA 3D Vision and they work very well with the lowest depth settings and the highest convergence.

* Dragon Age
* Mass Effect 1

If Bioware would fix the cursor in Dragon Age it would be perfect and if Bioware allowed us to disable the crosshair in Mass Effect it would also be perfect.

If you guys have any honest questions about NVIDIA 3D Vision I can answer them. It's NOT a gimmick. I believe that 3D TV's are still very gimmicky and the 3D DLP technology is also gimmicky due to numerous overscan problems. However I assure you NVIDIA 3D Vision is pretty damn flawless especially with new convergence settings.

And since EA annoucned all their games will be 3D ready I strongly recommend you immerse yourself further into Bioware games by treating yourself to 3D. It's a magnificent experience.

Jesse Houston edited the above post to make corrections. If the game isn't going to be 3D ready and if Bioware is defying EA's announcment that all their titles will be 3D ready, just man up and admit it.

Jesse Houstons original Quote in response to the original thread topic.

Quote Jesse Houston: "No where In the article does it confirm or deny that it is 3D enabled. It simply says that it's 3D ready, because the models are already in 3D..."

Sounds to me like they don't respect their investors very much and are preying upon their lack of knowledge of true 3D stereoscopic gaming.
