The long-awaited 3D Blu-ray release of Avatar will arrive before 2011—but you'll need a Panasonic Viera 3D TV if you want to own it this year.
Panasonic has confirmed the extremely odd rumoured arrangement to Cnet, forging a deal that'll see the 3D Blu-ray disc exclusively bundled with a select few Panasonic 3D TV models and "related equipment" this December. Plus some sort of ownership authentication scheme will be put in place so that existing Panasonic 3D television owners can apply to get the film. [Cnet]
