using optoma 3d dlp and optoma shutter glasses

Post by jay7son »

i have just purchased optoma dw318 pj and zd101 shutter glasses,
i know i should probably have bought the nvidia glasses for 3d blu ray
support, but i didnt want to wear them upside down, also even though
im currently using a 9800gt i want to upgrade to ati 4890, as its much
cheaper than the nvidia equivalent.

my question is do i have to instal tridef or iz3d drivers to watch 3d fims
so i can set the convergence n depth like in games, or do i use a 3d
media player without con n d settings and maybe make these settings
in the gpus standard drivers somewhere?

any feedback will be greatly appreciated as im very confused

any links to any s3d films would also be nice

thx in advance

For games you need the IZ3D drivers set to 120hz projector.
For movies you need "stereoscopic player", set to Software page flipping.
You can get movies in amazon or ebay, look for HQFS movies (High Quality Field Secuential)

Btw, where did you got the zd101 glasses and how much did they costs?

thx for info
got stereoscopic player to run a couple of 1 min demos,
looked 3d but had little depth or convergence, tried pausing
n moving controls up n down but just seemed to move
complete frame around(maybe i shouldnt have been running iz3d drivers
at the same time thinkin about it) will experiment more tomorrow

glasses just coming into stock in uk pj sites £100, they are
the change battery type, with watch batteries supposedly lasting
250 hrs, with just one switch for power on off, the sync works automaticaly
with pj which i have to say is good for £450 giving 1280 x 720 3d
n 1280 x 800 native

Hi guys

Jay7son, i have the same setup as you an Optoma 3d ready projector HDMI and the Optoma shutter glasses. Have tried to get the kit working in 3d but nothing works. Cannot even find demos or films which are compatable with the Optoma system. Have heard that educational software is available for use with the projector and glasses but cannot track any of it down.

I wonder if you have had any luck in getting your system working with anything 3d since you posted this thread.

Many thanks

Aaron.
