Keep in mind that was just about the only usable footage I got before one of the camera crashed. Plus I had some weird codec issues on my computer so I had to convert from AVI to MPEG1 (yuck!) and then back to AVI. Then take that AVI and have YouTube compress it for Flash. So the quality sucks. I will be doing more tests later today and hopefully find a good solution.

Crashed?!
Same happened to me the first thing when gotten my new canons. One of them went into the floor when just unpacked (not even put battery in it nor disassembled it for soldering) and had to be repaired. What a pity. The cameras shot slight different quality (colorwise) and i recently ended up getting same camera when they were exchanged for newer models. It works fine now but such things really sux.

I meant crashed as in an OS crashing. It basically froze, locked-up, blue-screened, whatever you want to call it. However I used both cameras for over 2 hours today with no problems. I guess it was just a fluke.
Anyway, I have posted some *much* better test footage on YouTube. I think I'm getting the hang of this:

See this post for some details on how this was all done: http://www.mtbs3d.com/phpBB/viewtopic.p ... 002#p30002" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ok, so I have got the quality a little better. In that last clip I encoded with X264 using the default ABR of 800, this new clip I'm using an ABR of 2400 and I think its a lot nicer with still a small file size. I'm going to do some more tests but I'm not sure the quality is going to get much better, at least with compressing both views side-by-side into a 1280x720 video.
