nvidia kicking iz3d?

Post by sharky »

hi guys!

i would need you to test something. i updated today to the latest nvida drivers (186,18). just after the install with this latest version i was not able to have the secondary outputworking with iz3d. previous versions of the driver work.

do i have another system problem or is iz3d beeing kicked out of the drivers by nvidia? could you please test it on your end?

thnx

igor

That would be a bad PR mistake for NVIDIA - I'd be surprised.

Try uninstalling the iZ3D drivers and NVIDIA drivers completely. Make sure the iZ3D folder is completely deleted too.

Then install NVIDIA, get dual screen working, and then install the iZ3D drivers and see if you can get it to inject. The iZ3D drivers may need to be re-binded to the updated NVIDIA drivers.

ive tried everything today, thats why i would like somebody to test if hte problem is isolated to me or if it is common.

the monitor gets recognized in windos, i can expand it to the second screen, but the output on the second screen is just totally black even in windows...

Three questions:

1. Is the light on the front of the monitor blinking in dual screen mode?
2. If you swap the cables, what happens?
3. If you revert to the older NVIDIA drivers, does it work again?

If it is blinking, then the cable is either disconnected or defective, the panel is broken, or there is no signal going to it.

I had this problem before, and it was because of a bad cable.

if the cable or the monitor would be broken it wouldnt work with older driver versions.. i didnt touch the calbles at all when the problem started existing. lets wait for somebody to test it. meanwhile i can still use the monitor in 2D...

You don't know for sure. $#(*& happens.

Also, it may have been necessary to delete the monitor detection file in the system devices window so it can be redetected.

LOL! I read the topic title and got the complete wrong idea. Hehe.

I wouldn't put it over them seeing how Nvidia has dealt with their competition in the past.

I just tried Nvidia's 186.18 driver and it works fine for me. I have:

- Windows 7 64-bit
- iZ3D monitor
- 8800GTX
- iZ3D driver ver 1.10 rc1

I installed Nvidia's new driver, then restarted my system. I checked in the Nvidia control panel to make sure it was reporting the updated version. Then I ran both Oblivion, and the 32-bit dynamic test in the iZ3D control panel. Both worked fine.

Prior to 186.18 I had 185.85.

I couldn't see nVidia doing this, they simply wouldn't get away with it and I doubt they'd want the bad press it would cause.

Verify that both panel are activated in NVIDIA control panel and to the correct mode (I think it's called dualview). Verify the resolution and refresh rate for both of them.

problem solved....

on previous releases of the drivers, the dvi outputs detected a vga monitor only if it was plugged into the energy supply. on this release it detects them also if they are not plugged into the energy supply. so the gpu was recognizing the projector connected to the DVI in parallel to the iz3d and was outputting a vga signal instead of a dvi signal.

solved by unplugging the projector.. this quite sux tough because now everytime i want to play on the big rig i have to reboot and attach the projectors just to play some time.. have to find a hardware rig that has one dvi input and a dvi and vga output. it has to be active tough (with own energy supply) else it wont work at all.

thnx for the help guys!
