Yager

Well, while we wait for the big games to come out this fall I really must recomend this game, ok It?s an X-box conversion and it came out 2003
but this is the best spacefighting simulator I?ve ever played and the graphics are really good for a game from 2003 and the controls with mouse and keabord work perfect.
I found it in a local store for just ?8
and the best thing: it works in S-3D without any tweaking
the only thing is that the compass is a little bit hard to see so sometimes you have to pause the game and switch of 3D to se the missionpoints.
And the sight is rendered at screendepth, but there is no problem with that because there is a autoaming fature.
If you try this out don?t forget to uppdate to V5.22.
OK here are some screens:

just rename to .jps as usual
Here is a review I from a user I found at Game Tracker:
"In the plethroa of combat flight sims Yager stands head and shoulders above the rest! The graphics are the best I've seen in ANY game of any genre. Swoop down to view the surface in beautiful detail then fly up to see animated, detailed crafts. But beauty is only skin deep -- does Yager come through in other aspects? You bet it does! There are more than 20 missions with an engaging storyline and a variety of locations and settings, from the idyllic Free Zone Coast to the dark and forboding Bitterfeld. The advanced flight physics make the ship wonderfully responsive. The AI is quite good. The enemy craft will work together in coordinating attacks and do a good job of trying to out maneuver you when chased. Explosions are spectacular and realistic. Sound is also quite good with the music matching the theme and tempo. You are frequently contacted by friend and foe alike on your ship's comms and humor is liberally laced throughout. My only criticism is the inability to save game at set points. If you fail a mission you can either restart it or continue as long as you stay in the mission. If you fail a mission you can either restart it or continue as long as you stay in the mission. If you exit you have to start the mission over from the beginning. But that's a minor criticism for an outstanding game!"
There is a demo at Gamers Hell / 200Mb

I hate to rename a lot of shots, so I made this little File-Rename program in the File Exchange to rename many shots: http://mtbs3d.com/cgi-bin/members_downloads.cgi

The game looks a little old, and the crosshair is at screen depth, what makes it nearly unplayable with big convergence and seperation.

I always wanted a spacefighting game in 3D, but they have usually a lot of 2D hud around the enemys, so it makes not much fun...
Play Nations at WAR with this code to get 5.000$ as a Starterbonus:

AMD x2 4200+ 2gb Dualchannel
GF 7900gs for old CRT with Elsa Revelator SG's
currently 94.24 Forceware and 94.24 Stereo with XP sp2!
