Portal / HL2 Ep2

Post by crim3 »

I'm trying to make Portal and Ep2 work in 3D. When I activate 3D the image splits but they are both the same, so there isn't real 3D. I've already read that about disabling color correction and motion blur, but nothing changes, always the same fake 3D. Any ideas? I'm missing the great stereo effect that the source engine delivers.
Old school nvidia drivers here (162.50) and winxp.

You need to mess with the convergence and bit and also the separation. I take the separation all the way down, then up one notch. From that point I adjust the convergence so that the HUD seperates (Control-F6, I believe) and keep doing it until it goes off the screen on one eye. That should yield decent stereo settings for Half-Life 2 Ep2 and other source titles.
