Is 3D 4K possible with a Sony 4K ACTIVE 3D TV Model xbr-70x850b

I have a 55" Sony 4K PASSIVE 3D TV that I love to play my games on in 3D 4K via line interleave. That one doesn't allow me to switch into 3D mode from an SBS 4K image. It says the operation isn't supported. So I have to set my 3D 4K content to line interleave and it shows up in 3D no problem. However, with an ACTIVE 3D display I don't know what I would do to get 4K 3D. The model I was recently looking at is a 70", xbr-70x850b. However it also would give me the error saying "this operation isn't supported" when I tried to take a 4K SBS image and tell the TV to switch into 3D mode. Now with my passive TV I get around this issue by just making the content line interleaved. Is there a way to get 3D 4K content on this ACTIVE TV in a similar quality of my passive 3D TV unit? I don't think there is but maybe I'm missing something? Thanks.

Never use SBS mode with passive interlaced TV, if possible - you get better picture quality with TAB mode!

With respect to your active 3D TV issue, are you using geo-11 version of fixes, and specifying the correct display mode? Note that the HDMI spec does not support 4K 3D, so the active L/R sync, if you could get it to work, would probably be limited to 24 fps. L/R sync is handled automatically by hardware with passive displays, without the need for a L/R frame sync signal (therefore, capable of interlaced 4K @ 60 fps).
