International Stereoscopy Day- June 21

I feel like we should celebrate International Stereoscopy Day. I just ran across this recently via the Brian May* website of the London Stereoscopic Company. He's got some great historical stuff. https://www.londonstereo.com/
Even though we are computer based, I don't think they will deny us entry to celebrating Stereoscopy Day.
I predict... that this Stereoscopy Day will be a day you will all remember. Get ready to celebrate.
* yes, that Brian May of Queen fame.

Fingers crossed, dx12 wrapper or fully working dx11 solution on newer drivers.
EDIT: Is it Nintynut related? That diagram looks like new dx9,10 and 11 3DMigoto wrapper interfaces????

Re: International Stereoscopy Day- June 21
Well the recent github pull request was active, with a last post of 19 days ago and discussed dx9 support in 3DMigoto, so
perhaps DarkStarSword, bo3b and NintyNuts wrapped that up?
https://github.com/bo3b/3Dmigoto/pull/156
bo3b also mentioned possibly moving 3DMigoto to a new code format
I could get really excited if they said AMD or Intel contacted them and were interested in adding support
I still can't believe Nvidia gutted their newer drivers like they did, tis saddening.

Re: International Stereoscopy Day- June 21
Actually you hit the nail on the head there- dx11 solution will be working on newer drivers. Non-3D Vision output works fine, like SBS and HelixVision in awhile will work, and 3D Vision will work using DX9 output, but it's buggy and hot off the presses.
Fingers crossed, dx12 wrapper or fully working dx11 solution on newer drivers.

I don't know what you are referring to NintyNuts? I've been talking with him a bit on dx9 HLSL compiler, but might have missed something?

I assumed is that NintyNuts is/was working on the 3DMigoto dx9 wrapper to finish up what what work had been done so far.

OK, thanks for that. Yeah, I need to get back and review that, but just haven't had time. NintyNuts is adding support in the HLSL Decompiler so that DX9 fixes don't need to use ASM. As far as I know he's not working on the dx9 wrapper side, but I have enough confidence in his coding that I gave him direct access to the Github.

So, do I understand this correctly? DX9 direct mode output will work on any post-452.02 driver which is amazing news but how are 3DVision screens users like myself (ASUS PG278QR) supposed to install the nvidia 3DV hardware USB driver, controller driver and stereoscopic 3D driver on any post-452.02 driver, as there are no longer included in the setup? As far as I understand, those drivers, or at least the usb and controller driver are still required to activate my 3DV Setup?

Re: International Stereoscopy Day- June 21
Well 452.06 doesn't have 3D components in the driver, the components are from an earlier release and the driver version is altered to match, so that it installs, without getting the mismatched version error.
When I used 458.xx, I did it by using 3D-Vision_Driver_Changer
viewtopic.php?p=184522&hilit=3D+Vision_ ... er#p184522
3DFixManager will likely be updated with newer driver options, if it hasn't already.
Then there's Losti's tool

I know that tool, I'm using it myself. but AFAIK, there are no 458.xx drivers. Anyway, 3DV will not work with any driver past 452.22, even with this tool (or BringBack3DV). That's why I was asking before.3DNovice wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 10:01 am When I used 458.xx, I did it by using 3D-Vision_Driver_Changer

I wonder, if geo-11 will improve the situation for 3DVision compatible screen users at all because we are anyway stuck with pre-452.22 drivers due to this driver issue... maybe anyone can confirm this.
In the end, this is no big deal because 3DVision setups are anyway dead in the water, long live stereoscopic screen. It is here where geo-11 will shine and be and incredible advancement! Big thanks for that.

Re: International Stereoscopy Day- June 21
Ooops, sorry I should have looked it up, I used it on 472.12. 458.06 was a beta/developer driver that I unzipped and looked at.
Drivers past 452.06 will work, but only dx9, OpenGL and Vulkan fixes will work or SuperDepth3D. DirectX 11 and 8 fail, so the 3D Vision wizard is only 2D, since it renders in dx8, Nvidia never updated it.
But geo-11 will allow directX 11 fixes to work on newer drivers because it hooks into the dx9 backend that Nvidia has. Geo-11 will also allow 3D Vision monitors to work with newer drivers. I was using 472.12 with my PG278QR and 2080ti

Re: International Stereoscopy Day- June 21
Interesting, that's good news. I got the same screen and 2080.
So, losti's tool will still install post-452.06 drivers including the 3DVision USB and controller drivers which are, as you said yourself, no longer included in the nvidia drivers since some time? I didn't know that.
Also, does this means the 430.39+ dx11 driver hack is no longer required as the games are being outputted using geo-11 and dx9 direct mode? Or does this have no effect on the concerned dx11 games and they will still crash?

The only part still necessary past driver 452.06 is the 3D Vision Driver itself, which can be installed with the tools. You can also use 3DFM/HelixVision to directly install the 3D Vision driver on any GPU driver version, to get DX9 support live again.WickedScav wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 1:59 pmInteresting, that's good news. The Schwing is not necessary any time you are using geo-11 as the output, because the 3D Vision Automatic is not running in that case. So you can use geo-11 on any driver, even old ones like 425.31, or anything further without needing to run the hack.
