I play around with an open source project called XreaL. It is based on the Quake 3 source, but has added Doom3 per-pixel fx such as proper shadows, normal mapping etc.
My rig is a AMD dual core, WinXP home and nVidia 7950GT card, with CRT monitor and eDimensional shutter glasses. I use the 163.71 drivers with 162.50 stereo drivers.
I can play the old Q3A fine, and also Doom3, Quake4 and other IdTech4 games in stereo. However XreaL does not show any stereo.
I can see the nVidia crosshair, and when I enable stereo the frame rate more or less halves, so I get the impression that the stereoscopic is being rendered, however the final screen is flat.
I'm not a programming guru or anything, but I was wondering if perhaps there were some simple OpenGL things I could check to see if they'd fix the problem. Maybe some flags or stuff in the buffer initializations or something.
I noticed something on an earlier version of this project, back with it was closer to original Q3A code. The models and players were rendering in stereo (they showed up as a double image on screen) but the geometry of the map was just 2D.
