Turns out international waters are very appreciative of 3D!

Disney Cruise Lines has started implementing stereoscopic 3D on their latest cruise ships, and have plans to make all future movie debuts take place at sea. Furthermore, movie showings will not be limited to debuts, and will feature content from all studios new and old on both of their large 3D screens. Credit goes to John Gaudiosi of WRAL.com[/b] for breaking this story.

This MTBS article is being written from Los Angeles in anticipation of Monday’s 3D Entertainment Summit[/b]!

According to James Cameron, the conference’s first keynote speaker, "Stereoscopic 3D is the most exciting evolution in cinema presentation since color and widescreen. The question for film-makers is not ’why 3D?’ since the reasons are obvious, at least to audiences, and the negatives have all been removed. The question should be ’how do I make 3D a part of my art?’"

MTBS is very excited to be a media sponsor and participant of the 3D Entertainment Summit. While Mr. Cameron appears to be speaking more for the theater experience, we would like to suggest a question for 3D technologies in the home to ask themselves. "Is the 3D industry connected with audiences, or are there a lot of false assumptions being made?"

We will know by end of day Monday when the preliminary U-DECIDE Initiative[/b] results are released. The survey closes January 1st, 2009, and gamers’ opinions never mattered more! There are nearly 60 prizes up for grabs including iZ3D 3D monitors, ATI GPUs, and a wide selection of video games by Blitz Games Studios, The Game Creators, and Guild Software.

We would like to express our thanks to Cristian Villalobos AKA SirC for sending us more forum signatures for our membership to use in and outside of MTBS. Cristian worked countless hours to make these possible, and we are hopeful our membership will reward his hard work by using them to help spread the word of 3D and our community.

You can find the complete collection in this forum thread[/b], and you are more than welcome to submit your own ideas. An added bonus is we plan on showing some of these signatures during our presentation at the 3D Entertainment Summit...so James Cameron and the President of Walt Disney[/b] may indeed be admiring your work!
