So I installed the fix with the Helix 3D Fix Manager app, tried launching the game but all I get are flashing monitors, a bit of sound from an intro vid and... That's it. It stays locked like that.
Obviously there's a fix and at least SOME people are using it just fine. Anybody got that problem and fixed it, around here?

Right-click the game exe and choose in the Compatibility tab to disable fullscreen optimizations. See if that helps.
