The original Quake crashes when I turn off laser sight.

Discussion of legacy stereoscopic 3D gaming hardware and software (e.g. NVIDIA XP stereoscopic 3D drivers).

The original Quake crashes when I turn off laser sight.

The laser sight graphically glitches (flashing between the red dot, a white square and vanishing) so I want to disable it, but when I turn it off in the nvidia control panel and start Quake, it crashes my machine every time. How can I get Quake working without the annoying laser sight?

I have the hotkey on crtl+F12. But I think it might be on crtl+L by default. Maybe you can deactivate it while playing?

Actually I solved it by using a different quake source port which for some reason doesn't allow the laser sight to show up! Hope this helps anyone with similar troubles!
