from beta to now, I'm not sure where we're at, with Half Life 2.
I suspect it's been a while since the console commands worked. to say nothing of FakeFactory's cinematic mod.
which was lovely on the dk2, I enjoyed it for a short while.
because it's such a mess, i wouldn't dare suggest it, i believe they're planning VR with Half Life 3 2018

Playing HL2 in VR in the past on my DK1 i got very stressed. That is why i do not believe that Valve will support VR for any HL title since they know that this is too stressful for people.
We are now very close to release Vireio v4 Alpha 3, that is the last Alpha version and the last version without DX9 support. Since Black Mesa is DX9 we support it eventually after alpha stage.
