Don't succeed to make work Vireio

[Tiraflo]

Hello guys !

A friend and I have a project in which we would like to use virtual reality. Before achieving this, My idea is to create a low cost diy rift (with a 800x480 resolution) that could work with some games. For the moment, I don't have the pieces to create my vr headset but even without that, I tried Vireio on a simple (1080p) monitor and no one game is working.

I have tested a lot of version (2.1.1a, 2.0, 2.0.0.02, 1.05, nightly 2.0.6) and some games (Crysis 2, Borderlands, Antichamber, Source motor games) and each time, I got just a black screen during an half second and nothing more.

I think having searched a long time for the solution but it's difficult with no error messages.

My PC configuration : P150HM - 2760QM OEM - 6990M - 8Go Vengeance 1866Mhz - 500Go XT Momentus - 240Go HyperX 3K

OK, I can't tell a great deal from that I'm afraid. What tracker setting have you enabled?

I have built a d3d9.dll with a lot of logging turned on.. don't try to use it when you do get things working as performance will be terrible, but if you download it, replace the existing d3d9.dll with it and then get another trace from TraceSpy and post it here it might give me a bit more info. If the log is too big, then please put it in a text file and just post a download link and I'll take a look.

I download this file and replace the d3d9.dll from bin folder of Vireio (version 2.1.1a) by this new one and here is the problem when I try to start Perception.exe :

Gah!, I guess the the dll is incompatible with the Perception App due to some recent changes.

No bother, just make sure the dlls are symlinked into the directory of the game you are going to run, you won't need to run the perception app as it will have stored its configuration in the registry so as long as the DLLs are symlinked to the game's folder, it should still inject ok.

If that doesn't work, then I'll give you a full vireio package with the additional logging turned on, at least then all the components will work together. I've run out of time to do it now.

To answer to your previous question (I forgot it ><) the tracking was either disabled, or freetrack or oculustrack but it doesn't seem to have an influence.
I linked the dll files (from version 2.1.1a + your modifed d3d9.dll) with VireioDLLInstaller.exe for AntiChamber, Crysis 2 and Portal. For the last one, execute the game without opening perception seems do not activate vireio. However for Crysis 2 and Antichamber the screen is still black and here are the log files.

well i am trying to do exactly the same. i downloaded vereio, followed the instructions and the game that i really want to play is digital combat system (DCS). and i still get the full screen.

digital combat system isn't supported by Vireio, so I'm not surprised it doesn't work. There is effort involved in adding game support, they don't just work straight off the bat. DCS isn't on our list at the moment, but there's no reason (that I can immediately think of) it couldn't be added.
