The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

Post by Mr Scratch »

The Witcher 2 has a free weekend of steam (and 80% off) so I figured I might as well install it and see if Vireio Perception works with it, and it does.

I'm using the old Vireio Perception for this which can be downloaded here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/778 ... _proxy.zip

Place d3d9.dll and libfreespace.dll in your steamapps/common/the witcher 2/bin folder.

Go into your cfg file and edit profiles to add this line:

Code: Select all

<profile game_name="witcher2" game_exe="witcher2.exe" game_type="101" separation="0.0563899" convergence="0" swap_eyes="true" yaw_multiplier="25" pitch_multiplier="25" roll_multiplier="1" />
Run the Perception.exe and start the game in steam.

As for the game settings I turn the following features off as they have proven in the past with other games to cause issues.

Shadow Quality: Low
Number of Shadowed Lights: Low
Blur Effects: Disabled
Every Depth of Field Option: Disabled
SSAO: Disabled
Motion Blur: Disabled

Thanks for sharing.

Does this still work with Virieo Perception 2.1.2 + VR Boost 2.1.2 ?
If you have gotten it to work for Witcher 2, why has it not been listed on the supported games list? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TYp ... 6rgQw/edit#
