Add feature category to riftenabled.com

Post by CyberVillain »

One feature that is crucial for immersion and that most Rift demos lack is independent body and head control.
Cant you guys at riftenabled.com Please add this to the feature list so that we can easy get a list of demos / games that support this.

As far as I know Museum of the microstar is the only Demo that does this correct

Dont know if you can count that since the body is fixed, but yeah, the heli controls and the head are seperate.
Thinking about Heli hell, rendering body is also important for immersion so that should be a feature flag at riftenabled.com too

I meant because it has a hydra tracker on the body (I think).

Ah, yeah, thats for translation. I think rotation is good enough as long as it is separate from the head control. Not even the official Tuscana demo from Oculus gets this correct :/

"You guys", it's only me ;)

Anyways; it's actually already implemented. Just go to the search page and tick "Positional tracking" and click search.

Independent head and body control is not the same thing as positional tracking. It only means that you can rotate or translate body separate from head. For rotation it does not require a position tracking hardware like the hydra it only requires the headtracker in the rift and a mouse or wiimote etc for 360 body rotation

I've added a new input category - Independent body and head control. Let me know which entries I should edit so they show up in the search.

I have an issue with Rift Coaster...Is there something I need to do to turn on the rift support...when I load it up it doesn't split the screen.

I had to turn off user edit of existing entries, as a couple of kids kept messing the site up. But let me know your username, and I'll add you as a administrator.

Yep, both my projects Night Bike & Horror have positional tracking (Horror is more torso tracking than head though, and has independent head vs body movement).
