I hope they are that new berry flavored creme kind - I've yet to try them, but they look yummilicious.

I was hoping it would come with drink cup holders and straws built in for virtual thirst quenching

Re: pre-kickstarter funder thread
I just bought 2 Hydra's on the Woot deal kindof hasty, hehe, but hopefully they will go great with the two headsets! I wonder when the wireless version will be released.

Do any of the pre-kickstarter people live in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area? I would pay to try it out...
Heck, I am sure you could rent it out to random people, but I think its too precious to do that. I am a backer but probably won't be getting mine until mid april.
---
nevermind, there is a thread for that already, sorry.

I must respect the wishes of Mr. Palmer Luckey and not disclose such things. I just assumed there'd be a surprise so I posted that before even reading it when I saw the email. Then after reading it I'm like, I should edit that just in case.

From all the NDA one would thought that Rift dev kit is some secret biological weapon or at least final consumer product. I must admit I don't get this teasing game.

What do you mean? Can you explain this?HarleyMills wrote:martinP in da house! I've heard so much about you.martinP wrote:From all the NDA one would thought that Rift dev kit is some secret biological weapon or at least final consumer product. I must admit I don't get this teasing game.
edit: OK, HarleyMills, let me help you. You probably meant "martin F" also known as SPe3 who is probably known to everyone reading the Kickstarter comments. I am martinP here and also at Kickstarter and I always was.

Re: pre-kickstarter funder thread
It's not meant to be a teasing game. It was a heads up for pre kickstarter backers that are following this thread. To let them know that the e-mail had been officially sent out. This way they can inquire if for some reason they didn't get the e-mail.

It was not that YOU tease us. I actually appreciate your post (despite of being general kickstarter backer).

Re: pre-kickstarter funder thread
Now that would be a surprise! Although I think the prekickstarters might use their last breaths to violate their NDAs (or should that be Non Disclosure Request, since they didn't agree to anything) if that were the case.martinP wrote:From all the NDA one would thought that Rift dev kit is some secret biological weapon
I don't understand all the secrecy either. Especially since information on their progress is itself one of the products they are sort of selling. One of the reward tiers is just information. Maybe Brendan Iribe has some reason for the secrecy, but I can't work it out. I'm not a business person though, so my inability to grasp it might not mean anything.

It may be as simple as they like to keep press releases interesting. I get that. Rather than press releases being spoiled early all over the net.

Re: pre-kickstarter funder thread
We're not under any NDAs, so we could post the email if we wanted to. However, Palmer requested we keep it private, so we'll keep it private.
To alleviate any speculation: It doesn't have any information that concerns anyone other than pre-kickstarters.

Re: pre-kickstarter funder thread
This will be an interesting test of trust. Will anyone post them email despite being asked to keep it private? Probably not.
My guess is that Palmer is seriously hooking up the pre-kickstarters. These are people that believed in the project so much they gave him $500 through paypal labeled as "Gift" based only on his forum presence. Perhaps he just doesn't want regular backers to get jealous. I didn't go for it because giving someone $500 with no recourse takes a lot of trust.
Are people that trust also trust-worthy?

Uh so somebody on the kickstarter just commented that the pre kickstarters had their Rifts shipped, is that the confidential news, or just speculation on their part?

It sure feels that way! Just too good to be true in a way.
Waiting for 'that' mail to arrive is just nerve racking. And really unhealthy in my opinion

They may have received some extra items that are not announced yet.
They may also have been shipped or given a date but don't want to announce it yet.

I bet there's a lot of occurrences of that in your daily life, regarding other subjects.2EyeGuy wrote:But if that were true, and all the pre-kickstarters got the email, there'd be no reason for the secrecy.German wrote:To alleviate any speculation: It doesn't have any information that concerns anyone other than pre-kickstarters.

Did anyone get a reply back after replying to Palmer's e-mail? I wanna make sure I didn't screw anything up. Even though I hit reply, I still checked the e-mail address like 14 times before hitting send.
