New Patch with New Stereo Modes

Post by Dyssident »

I'm sure some of you have already noticed but there's a new Trackmania patch out that includes some new S3D features.

Trackmania Nations Forever Patch Download
http://www.gamershell.com/download_27474.shtml

Trackmania United Forever Patch Download
http://www.gamershell.com/download_27476.shtml

Changes:
-improved checkpoint time deltas
-closing of application in laps mode
-hide to close modified in cam 3
-force opponent visible keep hide to close and set number
-very high shadow problems on some graphic boards
-reflections in desert water in more configurations
-259 to 260 medals crash removed
-fixed map browsing of personal campaign
-stereoscopic additional modes
-spectator cam fixes
-maniacode play_track on same track working
-update custom challenge score at download
-various small interface glitches

The game natively supports:
-Anaglyph Mode
-Left/Right Mode
-Interlaced Mode ("LineOdd/Even")

...and you can adjust the convergence and amount of anaglyph color while you're playing :)

Edit: To use these options you must do the following:
-Start the game and choose "Configure" from the launcher
-Click "Advanced"
-Click "Compatibility"
-Check the option for "Advanced stereoscopy"

Then during a race hit Escape and choose "3D Glasses Settings" to try the new settings

Hi , Dyssident ,

thanks for the link ,
i downloaded and tried this patch ... and its interesting.

Altogether 5 different modes ,as i remember :
Anaglyph,Left/Right,Left/Right*,LinesOdd/Even,LinesEven/Odd ...

With that LinesEven\Odd and vice versa you can run this without nvidia stereo driver with my shutterglasses!
Its half resolution but on 1152x864 on 100Hz its looking ok ... nice ...
I wonder if overall graphics look better since it comes directly from the game engine.I have no time but will tryout more later ...

This is the first game for me which has internal stereoscopic support.
Very interesting :)

regards

steps

PS: By the way theres not much going on at mtbs trackmania server ...which is a pity,
maybe we should remove some bad tracks or schedule some gaming...

i didn't try the patch yet, in order to change the separation/convergence values, you need to check a little checkbox in the game launcher :
go to the advanced configuration, under the graphics tab click the "compatibility" button. In there there should be a checkbox called "advanced stereoscopy", check it and ingame you'll be able to change separation and convergence.

Before the patch, the left/right mode was only for video recording purposes (the hud wasn't displayed on both views), maybe it's been corrected ?
