Call of Duty (Original)

Post by Neil »

Hi Guys,

Have any of you had problems with the original Call of Duty?

Whenever I go into stereo mode, and I try to separate, the screen drifts off to the side, but the images don't actually separate.

Is there a configuration tweak I should be using?

All help appreciated,
Neil

COD

I got the game to work on my 2nd machine that has a 7600GT CO.

I get some flashing textures here and there, and I think it is a driver bug.

Has anyone managed to get the game to work without any visual anomalies? Anyone without a 7600GT?

Regards,
Neil

I just launched CODSP for the first time in a long while and it is still a Platinum game on my system with no graphical anomalies and no flashing. I'm running it @ 1024x768 with everything in the NV control pnl maxed except AA witch is at 2xQ. I think this might be the first time I have launched this game in over a year and the first time I tried it on this card. I will play it for a while tonight to see if I have any problems.

I tried the original demo tonight and everything looks great. I am using the laser sight. I haven't had any visual anomalies.

The game is freezing for 10 seconds for about every 20 seconds of gameplay, then it resumes, then freezes again (semi-randomly). I don't know what's going on with that, but the game looks excellent.

Excellent!

What's key is it is a driver bug, and not a game development bug!

It looks great, but it runs very, very slowly in stereo for me.

I have the same graphics card, your drivers are the issue. 78.01 are awful on performance. Try updating to the latest beta ones in the download section. They work wonders for me. I even see FPS improvements with the 160 betas when not in S-3D.

This game runs in S-3D for me without any issues whatsoever.

Well, your biggest issues is the 78.01 drivers, they work but their performance suck big time. They also tended to cause BSODs on my system.

Try updateing to the latest beta ones in the download section. They work wonders compared to those extremely old drivers.

Thx - I'm running 93.81 now (7800GS+). I had the 6800GT a year or 2 ago when I played through CoD. Fun game.

That did the trick, thank you!
CoD & CoD2 are great in 3D, so if you love WWII games these are the ones to get :)
