to adjust the 3D convergence:
create a text file: user.cfg in "Program Files (x86)/Origin games/Battlefield 3" directory with 2 lines:

renderdevice.stereoconvergencescale 1.4
renderdevice.stereosoldierzoomconvergencescale 0.7

experiment with numbers (non-scoped and scoped convergence). The more scoped convergence the more "double" aim problem (in real life we aim with 1 eye closed).

You can just change/increase the numbers and save it in the "Program Files (x86)/Origin games/Battlefield 3" directory.
Depth is offcause controlled by the scroll button on Nvidias IR emitter.

With both dept and convergence adjustable in this game You should be able to get beautiful 3D while still being able to hit stuff You aim at.
