We have been long overdue for a game review!

Check out Crysis Warhead and share your opinions about this game. Were you able to find settings on either iZ3D or NVIDIA solutions to make it work better?

Regards,
Neil

Neither games work well.

The whole point of the Crysis games is how they look rather than game play.
The problem is the fancy lighting needs to be turned off to enable 3D to work, your then left with a mediocre game with mediocre graphics.

That all said, the 3D effect of what we do get to see is pretty good, you do get nice depth, apart from foliage that comes near you, and that's pretty frequent, it's 2D billboards with poor AA that looks so rubbish and is very distracting, ruining the effect.

I've only tried 3DVision, however I understand all solutions have the same flaws, post processing needs to be disabled, reducing the visual quality back 5+years.

Until either the games developers decide to code with 3D in mind from the outset, or the 3D solution people provide specialist drivers for certain games, we will have to reduce the visual quality to such a detrimental effect that enabling 3D may or may not be worth it.

Actually, this is partially correct.

For NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision - the smoke effects are completely 2D. I don't know why I didn't mention that in the review (I will amend it), and you do have to turn all the settings down.

For iZ3D, Crysis Warhead was a surprise. It should have performed much better than it did. The original Crysis can play everything to the max, with the exception of shadows. The smoke effects, etc. are properly rendered and don't seem to be in 2D in either game.

Neil

i played crysis warhead on the big rig with the iz3d drivers back in december. it worked perfectly with no error at all except the weapon rendered at wrong depth. the first crysis at the other hand didnt work at all.

i dont know if it still works with the actual drivers.

Very different experience here.

For iZ3D, try this:

1. Activate simple projection method to clear double gun problem.
2. Look carefully around glow effects. Reflections on boxes for example. A lot of problems appear at night.
3. Activate night vision.

Are you going for an out of screen effect? This is where things fall apart - that's the real test.

Neil
