Hey what type lens would I need to shorten the distance of the image when using a pico PJ , I read someones post before but can't fine it.

Im looking to get a 26mm or 27mm dia which is about an inch, and the focal is 34mm to 50mm depending on the diameter size I get, does this sound about right. They are called Plano Convex, they say magnify so I hope thats what I need to shorten the distance.
