Looks like Freke1's inspired this artist as reported @ gizmodo.com
"Joshua Heineman is obsessed with old stereo cards, those old photographs from the 19th century that contained two different views of the same subject to give the illusion of depth. He converts them into pseudo-3D GIF images that can be seen without glasses, on your monitor. The method is extremely simple, and while the jerking result may seem silly, surprisingly, it works: (see images via the article)
Johsua just gets his images from the New York Public Library, and combines them into a single two-frame GIF animation, which quickly flicks between two frames. [Cursive Buildings]

PS is there any way of embedding these animated/non-animated images into this post Sharkey/Neil ?
3D GIFs Made from Old Stereo Cards are catching on!

That technique has been around for a while, I really don't think Freke1 invented it (but if he did, I apologize). Here is a the first site I found using the method, with photos from 2002:

They're just regular animated gifs and can be embedded just like any other image (there is a button that says "Img").
Nice that Gizmodo actually gave something Stereo3d the tag "cool", because usually they just rag on us for wearing nerdy glasses.

I didn't invent it - I saw this on a Battlefield 2 forum:
and made some myself:
http://www.3d.wep.dk/3Dgifs.html
They are called wriggles. Just use "Gif Construction Set" program and some 3D photos.

It's easy to make them with stereo-photomaker as well. Just take a .jps or 2 jpg or on jpg stereo and go to 'File' and then 'create Gif animation'.
I translated the commands, but it should sound similar.
Well however I think it's realy hard to make realy good ones!
If you have too high depth or popout in a scene, it does not work.
I like the ones Freke made. They are not so exagerated as other wriffles.
Maybe it's a good Idea to use them in other forums to draw attention to S-3D?
