Could VorpX add half life 'mode3' type functionality.

Since your are moving the eyes left and point in a bit... then right and point in a bit... IE, you can move the the viewport around.

So the question is, if you separate the head tracking and the mouse. Mouse moves the cursor, and the head moves the view direction. But they effect each other. So if you move your head out of range of the cursor, it will move the cursor to follow... If the mouse moves beyond the moving area, it will drag the view with it (or more, the view can be a max angle away).

So the game thinks your pointing one way, your looking a bit off to the side. The biggest issue I see is that most game engines drop items that are out of view, and the cursor would be at the wrong location and would have to be probably drawn in (not sure how hard that would be to calculate).

Anyway, might be something to differentiate VorpX with the others. and for some games, might make it pretty great.

Probably not. In the case of Vorpx it allows head movement because the games it is configured for allow head movement. It does not really change any of the game mechanics. You would need a personal mod or 1st party support. I've only seen it personally in a few mods such as team fortress 2 as well as the minecrift mod for minecraft.
