Getting around the Checksum for loading a modified firmware

Post by bboyza »

Yo, so I'm trying to alter the lens separation values in the DK2 firmware for this: http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments ... us_can_we/

I think i've found the right values to update and have done so using HxD editor. Of course this has changed the checksum and when trying to update via the Oculus Config util it reports that the file is corrupted (I assume not passing a checksum check).

I've search and seen a few places where it sounds like some have gotten this right and have loaded their own custom firmware onto the Rift, but I haven't found any clear instructions on how to do that.

I'm rather noob in this department. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :geek:
