Hi everybody, I am the developer of GearTornado (http://geartornado.com)
I have been working on my DIY VR Headset for a few weeks.
First I built it with the case of LCD Display. It was terrible.
Now I have a 3D Printed case.

Your post is too vague. What resolution are you running on? 133 dollars, that's steep, why did it cost so much for a display? Why are you advertising 3D homepages for your free stuff on this forum?

It is based on Rod Furlan's tutorial on how to build a DIY Oculus. So all specs are same.Ryuuken24 wrote:Your post is too vague. It appears seller decreased the price of the lcd. But It is still more expensive than others. Because its driver has both AV,HDMI and VGA input.
I needed AV because I'm going to fly my quadcopter using its screen as a monitor without goggles.
I needed HDMI, because I wanted to watch movies and play games.
Sorry, I should have thought members would expect detailed specs. I copied same text I wrote for reddit. Sorry about the link to 3d printing firm, it is removed now.

Hey mclightning,
Just to let you know I've nearly finished the new version of my 3D Printed design. I've still got some tweaking to do.
I have used one the the cheap safety mask things you can buy from hardware stores to mount it to your head nicely without it being pulled onto your face. The face clip adapters are interchangeable though so you can still use an elastic strap if you want.
Once I've finished all the tweaks I will upload the design to thingiverse like the last one.
Here is how it is looking at the moment:
For anyone interested my first design can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:118291
