that's what I mean, open to suggestions. must stay away from hitler 'stache connotations. This creates difficulties.

Someone else take a shot at it, see what you come up with. If he looks a little distraught, it's probably due to some aspect of Internet rule #34 in the Rift viewpoint, happening to some cherished childhood memory. :P

Last try then I'm off to do some so-called work.

Someone else will have to take a shot at it.

The original (hitler) one posted was absolutely fine, it just needed the tiniest of tweaks (literally one or two pixels) around the mouth. I also thought the whole point of it being angled such was to mimick the Minecraft guys!

This is my thought as well. If I wasn't at work I would attempt said tweaks as well.

Looks cool and more importantly gives them the image of a proper company doing the business.

(Cue people moaning about them 'wasting money' on an expensive Booth! ;) )

They probably built those walls out of Rift prototypes!

That's why we don't have ours yet!

Me either. And the redone one misses the point, I think. I thought the original was perfection.

And the politically correct libtards forced the awesomely clever "Riftard" thread to be renamed into something forgettably lame too. We lost a great thread title, and a great icon. At least we still have the ASCII graphic "Riftard" smiley: []D All this smiley is missing is the dangling "Rift Unplugged" cord...

I think the actual rift hmd needs brighter highlights and to stick out a little farther, to make it easier to read, right now its almost the same color as the forum backgrounds. It looks good though, also increase the contrast on the drool, either brighter or darker, its hard to notice.

Really Geekmaster? It was the liberals? Come on dude. I'm as much of a liberal, pinky, commie, socialist, as a person can be and I love riftarding. Lets not get political here.

Okay, wrong "tard" word, but what "tard" word is more appropriate? That was the best I could find on short notice... And the definitions of "libtard" did not really fit anyway. What is a better word? Political Correctness seems to be the domain of all the major political groups these days, except perhaps the "small government" Libertarians... Sorry about the poor choice of "tard" word. Politics was not the aim, but rather a "tard" word to describe POLITICAL "Correctness"... Perhaps the "PC-tards"? Sometimes trying to be clever just doesn't work for a general audience...

I know the smilie is small to work with, but if you make the Rift smaller about the size of chunky sunglasses but shaped like a Rift. That would allow some of the smilies forehead area to be seen, allowing the Rift to be better seen against the contrast of the smilies forehead. I think that would do the trick.

How about I call you all cuntflap poop-eating motherfucking nigger faggots. Oh, you think that's inappropriate? Offensive, even? Well I don't find these words offensive, so you must be a sniveling liberal overly-PC retard!

Language is so fluid that not only do words vary wildly in potency from place to place, but some words even have completely different meanings, and sometimes there's entirely new words! I could barrage you with a torrent of Scottish slang that you could only decode with the aid of google. Arguing to what extent a word is inappropriate is as pointless as arguing what colour is the best. It's simple: if you don't want to offend, avoid words others find offensive - regardless if you think they are or not.

How dare you call things "simple"? Don't you know "simple" is a derogatory term for stupid people? ;)

What happens if I actually need to talk about forking a repository to add support for a bluetooth dongle?

yeah - always scanning all quotes in the following posts just because I read it.
it's the "why is that information hidden from me" factor that just makes one curious.

Sorry - no big mystery or nugget of wisdom here. I simply moved this post from the general Rift thread to the more appropriate thread.

Just want to give a big thanks to Palmer, Cybereality and the rest of the Oculus crew for throwing yesterday's party. It was great meeting you guys and the other lucky enthusiasts who were able to get in.

And the attention you are getting at GDC is amazing. Hopefully it leads to a lot of big projects.

Didn't know where to ask and didn't want to start another thread. I am wondering about mini-display on ATI cards with eye-finity and having the Rift connected through those ports. If I grab a mini-display to DVI converter, will that allow the Rift to function through it, allowing my other 2 monitors to stay up? If anyone has ideas of this stuff it would be very appreciated.

Edit: thank you.

I imagine this would work, however I would be concerned about any additional latency that display port to DVI converter might add. I'd be more inclined to put one of your other monitors on the converter and use one of the true DVI connectors on the rift.

Conversion from display port to DVI is passive. Given that, I wouldn't think it would add latency.
