Kainy with Virtual Router

Post by konstantin_lozev »

Hello to everyone. I have been experimenting with my homebrew HMD and streaming apps. The wireless connection through the home wifi router is a no-go, so I set up an ad-hoc wifi from the PC with the programme Virtual Router.
The results are:
- Splashtop - bad
- Trinus Gyre - workable, but still high latency/low FPS
- Kainy - not possible to connect.
I read that Kainy has the lowest possible latency, so my question is - how to make Kainy work on the ad-hoc wifi. When having only the ad-hoc wifi on, the PC server shows only 0.0.0.0 for the local IP address, whereas the Trinus Gyre connects no problem with that setup to 192.168.173.1.
So in short - how to connect Kainy to the ad-hoc wifi.
Also, if you have any tips on how to improve Trinus Gyre performance, please help. USB tethering is a no-go, since we are talking of Kindle Fire here (I don't see an option in the menu).
Thanks a lot in advance to all.

The best bet is to contact the developer of Kainy by email for support.

He is monitoring customer requests, although he has not put out an update in some time.
