Any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive screen?

Any suggestions for a relatively inexpensive screen?

Post by Jarvis »

I've been browsing the forums for a while and looking on the net and can't really seem to find something worth buying and using.
I was thinking about maybe a retina display for the high resolution and fov that could be had, also they are pretty cheap at less than $100 but the size is a little to large:
9.7 inches (250 mm)
2,048 × 1,536 px
IPS LCD display at
(264 ppi)[4] with a 4:3 aspect ratio

Cost this guy $70 in parts: http://emerythacks.blogspot.com/2013/04 ... to-pc.html
So an impressive HMD could be had for around $150
Any suggestions?

I try to maintain a list of displays here :
http://vr.wikinet.org/wiki/Displays

Maybe you can find something useful there, but most displays with a higher resolution than 1280x800 can't be driven from a PC.

For now your best bet would probably to use two 1280x800 panels like in the InfinitEye if you want a bit more resolution.

Thanks for the link, I added the display for the iPad 3.
