Emagin announces first commercial sale of 4K OLED panels

Post by budda »

Hi,

This is a big news announcement today.

Although details are confidential, a recently re-capitalised eMagin, has obtained its first commercial order for its new HMD '4K' OLED panels.

The market seems impressed with a large +35% increase in its share price today.

There are a number of announcements online.

The eMagin press release is here:
eMagin Corporation (NYSE MKT:EMAN) has signed a non-exclusive intellectual property (IP) licensing agreement for its unique 4 MegaPixel per eye immersive virtual reality headset technology with an undisclosed company. The deal includes an upfront licensing fee of $1M and a commitment to use eMagin’s 2,000 x 2,000 pixel full color displays in the company’s headsets.

could it be part of VOID's RAPTURE HMD...?
As Sony/Oculus/HTC are almost out of equation at present stage for commercial quantity for this kind resolution.

I suspect that numerous projects like this, about to come out, and ready to RULE the world..... rates part of the reason why Oculus is giving away the free units. Not wagging a finger here,... just saying.

It's important to bear in mind that these are microOLED panels.

They are as likely to be going to augmented reality headsets like HoloLens, Sony or Magic Leap.
