{searching} Simple Screen glasses

Post by mystd »

With all the VR and AR boom going on right now I'm wondering where the hell are simple glasses that just act as a seethrough screen or just a freaking monitor on one eye. They always are packed with tons of stuff like cameras motion recognition and stuff. I just want a screen in my face to walk around with without getting run over by a car or running into things.

Does anyone know something like this? Or at least a tutorial for a diy project?

Laster SeeThru was the only monocular display I saw without a camera, it's Kickstarter failed but try contacting them directly.

The other monocular ones like Google Glass, Vuzix M100, Lumus reference design all have a camera except possibly the Brother AirScouter.
I haven't heard much from LaForge Optical or the Kopin monocular reference design.

Epson v1 and possibly v2 don't have a camera but are binocular.

Why can't it have a camera?
