Useful Info on older HMDs & display systems used

Post by Radioboy86 »

Here I am going to give some very good info for those interested in some technical aspects of various HMD tech. Many companies have special in house technologies that are basicly "renamed" / "currently implemented" standards. This is kind of a mixed section of information and my own understandings. Please understand that some data is not readily available and much is left up to experimentation and speculation. I hope this very diverse guide will highlight things to help make more sense out of possible HMD units you may want to "try" or "buy". I made this guide to help those seeking more info not commonly on the net. I had to translate a few sites to english and cross check the accuracy of what was being stated. Olympus for example has lots of good info and extra model specs if you look on the JP Japan sites. Sony has great info about the ancient methods they used in the Glasstron units too. These are usually press releases and very hard to scrape archives. Enjoy and feel free to correct any of my "speculations" I do my best to include all facts and bullets. I do include my opinion to help those with similar mindsets figure out which units may want to skip and units they may want to seek out to try.

*Check back regularly... Will be updated often
