Using Google Cardboard We Made Predator Vision

Post by CMDprototyping »

We're a small prototyping company from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, and we're super excited to show you guys our new headset! Using a Google Cardboard headset, a FLIR lepton thermal camera, and the camera on an iphone we managed to recreate the vision from the predator movies! This headset augments your vision, or rather the vision from the iphone camera, with thermal data. It targets the warmest visible object and displays it all in a film authentic colour palette. The triangle you can see in the photo locates the hottest point in its field of view and locks on (for superior prey tracking)!

We used a Google Cardboard headset designed by Kuutio 3D as the physical base. Everything else was designed, printed, and programmed at the Fortin Discovery Lab. Our website is here if you'd like to check us out: http://cmdprototyping.com/working-predator-vision/
