Its going to be give away for next g3 purchases. quite a win win for LG blowing Samsung in right place.

Samsung india devices are pathetic and over priced. atleast some one has given wake up call so
Galaxy S3 Neo .... so so hardware but only AMOLED at competitive price.. Approx $200

ITs welcome move.. comparing with Grand2 (own product) is bullshit idea...

It seems you have a quarrel with Samsung for some reason.

Worst enemy is closest friend.....its said.

i have used many Samsung smart Phones in past and i was 'SAMSUNG FAN' until realize........................

Samsung is taking naive consumers for FOOLS, Packing below par plastics materials and SoCs that are just 'horrible' in entry level and lower & mid range devices. High end products being horribly over priced. its only until i realized after being regular reader of Gsm arena and Anandtech and personally used Nexus7 and MOTO G that really Samsung overprices in a way they are robbing you for their OLED paired with bad SoCs and their awful TouchWiz making pure android laggy and sluggish, now that i have used pure forms of jellybean, kitkat and lollypop i can shout loud they are super buttery when they are not 'skinned & altered' by third party hence now i condemn TouchWiz, i never let buy any Samsung Smart Phone in my circle of friends and family and people who honor my opinion and that's quite a group.

I see you two on several threads. I'm new to this but I have an idea for the G3 fan. lol

I don't know if you get notified of a response via e-mail but here is what I have posted earlier today for your reading (or rereading?) pleasure. These components should be less than $200 dollars for sure. If I get lucky...less than $150. Anyways, here you go!

I wonder how many pins the LG G3 display has on it's own (the wide ribbon is for the display, the small ribbon coming off of the display goes to the touch controller). I would like to try using the display by itself as a monitor instead of the signal being routed to the phone via wi-fi. If I can find out how many pins the ribbon has, then find out if a controller kit like the VS-TY2662-V1 is compatable (even if I have to splicing/soldering), then the lcd may be usable straight up as a monitor. :woot http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAyNFgxMDI0/ ... i/$_57.JPG

If it would work (IF!), I would start building a light weight (albeit wired) hmd. Then my next leap would be getting a gyro and head tracking installed.

Thanks for all of the information that you peeps have provided. This gives me that tickly feeling inside!

Maybe I could make something like "Claire" by VRunion this way. http://vrunion.com/#claire

It of course would be much cheaper than $2500!

ps. I now realize that Claire was your idea Hannibalj2

I realize that the ebay link does not work but copy VS-TY2662-V1 in the search bar and it will show what they call a rift kit for $84. It supports screens with LVDS ports which supposedly the G3 display is. The control board with the kit has multiple inputs to support HD and 3d side by side. Remember that I'm new to this but I have done research off and on since I saw people with their diy video's/posts. I'm serious about it now that the parts are so cheap.
