zSpace and passive monitors

Post by arccraft »

I've been experimenting with AR/VR interaction using a passive LG monitor, Leap motion controller, and head tracking. One of the highest challenges is that 3D viewing angles are very narrow on the passive display before I start to see ghosting. I saw in MTBS3D's interview with zSpace that they are using a passive monitor. Does anyone know how they are able to get such impressive results?

By passive, do you mean parallax barrier like the 3DS? Or Polarized like zSpace?

zSpace uses Polarized glasses. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/HP-Pavilion-2311g ... roduct_top

zSpace might also be doing some tricky FoV enhancing things in their glasses, perhaps buy a pair.

Also you might find this entertaining since your project describes something I was working on a while ago:
