It's fun to look back at these - at one point VR really was a joke, however hopefully this year we'll have the Rift!

Re: VR on the Sega Genesis!
I gotta be honest. As i was a teenager i couldn't imagine sth like VR, i just got my first PC, didn't knew too much about physics and sensors. Also the internet at that time was just at the beginning.
The newer generations just are so used to all this tech stuff and this humongus technological knowlegde they can access on the net.
I heard several times the term of VR in some TV movies but never gave another thought about it.
I mean it is also so unreal, a parallel universe! that it immediately generates a kind of disbelief.
Even as i watched Matrix i didn't believed that sth like VR is somehow possible or already existing in its very preliminary state.
It really just got through to me as i learned about flat 3D TVs. Then it began bubbeling in my brain.
I was searching the web for best display technologies out there. Holographic displays,HMDs with wider FOVs....and then oh Jesus Christ, i found this forum to come just in time and to witness the birth of VR.

Haha, I remember watching this I just think that it was lucky they never got it working when he was a kid, oh how disappointing it would have been...
I would love to see more videos of old VR sets... Palmer should do a tour through his collection, highlighting technical advances with different versions, etc... that would be neat And obviously, he has tons of spare time to do it on. Or not.

Too funny.
I wanted that thing so bad as a kid. I think I'm glad my mom never bought it, cause it probably would have crushed my dreams.
It is also a big reason why people thought VR was bogus, but now minds are being changed by the Rift.
