Interesting stuff...didn't know they'd made it that far in retina displays.

Cool! All these HMD screen solutions are just prelude hacks to the proper solution - retinal projection or optic nerve taps. I'm very curious how far they have progressed in this area and would love to hear someone's first hand impression of this device.

It is not actually retinal projection, I have been looking into it quite a bit. It uses a scanning element that is very similar to the Private-Eye P4 (One of which I own, actually).

Retinal projection is pretty hard to do in real life, as it has such a tiny exit pupil, and only works if you are looking straight forward. I would not count on seeing it for a long time, if ever.

Sign me up for a direct optic nerve connection, though! :P

Scanning element eh? I thought it was just a projector. Nice to hear the facts about it. Its definitely not 'retinal projection' as you say... or they would be claiming that.
Is the P4 colour or monochrome? I believe the original Private Eye displays were just one colour?
